  • June 8 – Greene County Mini 4-H will meet at the Greene County 4-H Fairgrounds. This is open to students in kindergarten through second grade.
     
  • June 9 — The Linton-Stockton Chamber of Commerce will host a Colors of Freedom Fun Run. The fun begins in Humphreys Park in Linton at 6:30 p.m. Registration is now open at http://members.lintonchamber.org/events/details/colors-of-freedom-fun-run-7. Participants who register on or before June 1 will be guaranteed an event t-shirt and goodie bag as well as a discounted entry fee.
     
  • June 9 — WestGate Academy will host its second annual Get Outdoors Day. Activities will include inflatables, archery, disc golf, horseback riding, and remote controlled planes and drone demonstrations. The event will take place from noon to 8 p.m.
     
  • June 10 — The Running For Our Future 5K, held at WestGate Academy, will take place. Check in begins at 8 a.m. Proceeds from the event will fund scholarships for area students Registration fees are: Kids 12 and under: $20 until June 9, $25 the day of the event and adults $30 until June 9, $35 the day of the event.   • June 15-18 — Shawnee Theatre kicks off its 58th season with The Marvelous Wonderettes by Roger Bean. About the show: It is the 1958 Springfield High School senior prom, and four teenage girls who are the school’s “trophy-winning” song leaders are asked to step in as the entertainment. They are replacing the boys’ glee club, the Crooning Crab Cakes, whose lead singer was caught smoking behind the girls’ locker room and suspended from school. Show times are Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. with Sunday matinee at 2 p.m. General admission tickets are $12, and a six-show Flex pass is $60, giving patrons six shows for the price of five. Flex passes are available for purchase until June 14. Two children aged 12 and under will get free admission when accompanied by at least one adult with a full price admission ticket.
     
  • June 16 – Greene County Economic Development will host its 15th annual golf scramble beginning at 8:30 a.m. at the Phil Harris Golf Course in Linton. For more information, please call 812-659-2109 or email hfranklin@insidegreenecounty.com
     
  • June 17 — The Linton-Stockton Chamber of Commerce will host its annual 5K Run/Fitness Walk at Linton-Stockton High School. The 5K is a competitive run awarding prizes to the top male and female runners as well as medals to the top performers in each age category. Participants can register online for this event by visiting: http://members.lintonchamber.org/events/details/freedom-run-5k-walk-11.
     
  • June 19 — Greene County Mini 4-H will meet at the Greene County 4-H Fairgrounds. This is open to students in kindergarten through second grade.
     
  • June 23 – The Bloomfield Chamber of Commerce and Shawnee Theatre will have a fundraiser at the American Legion from 5 p.m. to 7;30 p.m. They will be selling Hi-Deckers and #1’s, made famous at the former Hunter’s Drive-in.
     
  • June 26 — Greene County Mini 4-H will meet at the Greene County 4-H Fairgrounds. This is open to students in kindergarten through second grade.
     
  • Fridays — The Worthington Merchants and Friends will host a Farmers Market on North Washington Street from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. 
     
  • Saturdays — The Linton Farmers’ Market will be open on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Humphreys Park.
  • Tuesdays — The Bloomfield Farmers’ Market will be open on Tuesdays from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. It is located on the northwest corner of the courthouse square.
     
  • Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays – The A.M. Risher Aquatic Center in Linton offers lap swimming and water aerobics from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. The cost is $4.
     
  • Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays – Linton Cinema is offering free kid-friendly movies at 10 a.m. all summer long. The complete list of movies scheduled can be viewed by visiting their website, http://kjbtheaters.com/LintonCinema/summer-kids-films.html.
